Where there is smoke, there is fire

 
You have heard all the speeches from you parents, teachers and friends, but you are an individual and want to make your own choices. Well then if you want to be wise individual, consider the following:

What is the first thing your body did when you smoked for the first time? Coughed your lungs out? 
Yes? What does that tell you? 
Smoke in you lungs chokes your lungs, after all they weren't made for filtering air. If your body gets strained and has to fight off the smoke in its system, you leave yourself open to be attacked by other illnesses. You body cannot fight at all fronts at once and smoking strains your resources.
This is ONE of the reasons why smoking is unhealthy. Its isn't the only and absolute reason. A lot of people smoke and live, but not all people have the same immune system like you or the person next to you do.

Not smoking shows that you care about your own well-being, but also that you care about the people around you.

Being young, we don't want to think about the future and the consequences our actions have, but that is what being an adult is all about. 

Its not easy and not something we do when we get older. Some people never grow up, even when they are in their late fifties or sixties. Growing up is a lifetime experience. Why not start now?

Precaution is better than the cure!
